Homemade Heartfelt's school banner hanging on the edges of a tiered tray (wrapped around it)

Back to School Brainstorming on Hanging Banners

Over the years, my lovely customers have sent me so many photos of how they have displayed their school themed felt banners. They are so creative so I'd like to share their photos and give you some ideas on how to decorate during this back to season this August and September. Whether you are a teacher or a parent, or neither and you are an avid decorator like me, you are bound to get ideas for where you can hang one yourself!

Hanging a Banner on a Tiered Tray

This customer managed to rig this banner onto a tiered tray! While I have done this with some of my smaller banners, like the flip flop banner, I hadn't thought to do it with anything larger - but here's proof it can be done! It really does look adorable. My guess is that she tied it together on the other side or clipped it together. If you don't mind things not being perfect, then this one is for you!

Hanging a Banner in the Homework Area

Most students have homework and it can be fun and effective to have a dedicated space for children to sit and focus on their work. I loved how these parent decorated a simple corner with a table, vase, books, posters, and of course my Homemade Heartfelt banner. Looks like it was just taped it to the window sill and thumbtacked to the wall.

Hang a Banner in a Homeschool Area

Along the same lines as a homework area, but if you have a dedicated homeschool room, this banner is perfect for all year long. I also have extra pieces now that you can add on that represent more subjects and classes.

How to Hang a Banner on a Message Center

A household command center or message center is a great place to hang a banner. It's someplace in your home where you can write the grocery list, add to the calendar or pin up a card. Its a nice place to swap out a banner every month or so.

How to Use a Banner for Milestone Photo Opportunities

These ingenious mamas staged their babes with the back to school banner to capture a milestone in their child's life. These are my most favorite photos that customers have sent me!

How to Gift a Banner to a Teacher

It really is that simple! Give a banner as a gift to your child's teacher now at the beginning of the year or in May for Teacher's Appreciation. I can even customize the chalkboard with their name if you'd like personalization.

How to Hang a Banner on the Fireplace Mantel

Last year I built up my back to school decorating pieces and made a vignette on my fireplace mantel. This is my favorite spot to hang a Homemade Heartfelt banner and I went with the old fashioned school banner (https://r8rmqnilqf5wof19-34522464301.shopifypreview.com/products/old-fashioned-school-house-miniature-felt-banner-bunting-garland-wall-hanging-decoration). I have some sticky backed adhesive and some clear hooks and I just hook the loop on the end of the banner onto it.

And now for the teacher's......

How to Hang a Banner on a Bulletin Board

The kids will love seeing this banner hung on a bulletin board. Something about miniatures draws kids in and they will see the tiny little crayons and the little things on the lined paper.

So here is the link to this very versatile banner:

If you want to purchase the banner with the extra pieces, you'll have to do that over on Etsy because I can't figure out how to add that feature here on my website yet: https://homemadeheartfelt.etsy.com/listing/618362220

Well, there you have it! Our brainstorming session on how to hang the back to school banner is a wrap. Great participation class - you are dismissed!
